Here is a list of dns settings to put on your ps3 if you are experiencing some lag issues. To check these dns settings you will have to use your pc in order to do so. I would suggest testing the dns settings that are closest to your area and filter them out by major isp's.
If you are running xp click start and go to the sub tab that says RUN. Type in CMD press Enter. If you are using Vista or Windows 7 click start and just above the start button you will see a search bar type cmd in that bar. A second black screen will pop up looking something like this
C:\Users\TwistedFlesh>
now to clear it out to where it just says C:\ type cd..
C:\Users\TwistedFlesh>cd.. and press enter should look like this
C:\Users>
type cd.. and press enter again so it should now look like this
C:\>
Now to test the connection and see what your minium and maximum ms are do as follows. I have verizon wireless closest to me so I will be using my tests as the example. dns range from 4.2.2.1 - 4.2.2.6
To do the first test your screen should look like this
C:\ping 4.2.2.1 press enter
results as follow
Pinging 4.2.2.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 4.2.2.1: bytes =32 time=76ms TTL=57
Reply from 4.2.2.1: bytes =32 time=74ms TTL=57
Reply from 4.2.2.1: bytes =32 time=67ms TTL=57
Reply from 4.2.2.1: bytes =32 time=69ms TTL=57
Ping statistics for 4.2.2.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 <0% loss>,
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 67ms, Maximum = 76ms, Average = 71ms
After doing this test several times pinging different dns, pick the 2 dns that give you the closest and lowest minimum, maximum and average ms.
